These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ScribAI desktop application and related services. By downloading, installing, or using ScribAI, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

ScribAI is a voice-to-text dictation application for Windows that allows users to transcribe speech into text using local AI models or cloud-based transcription services. The application also includes an AI Compose feature for generating written content from voice descriptions.

2. Account Registration

Some features of ScribAI require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3. Free and Pro Plans

Free Plan: Includes push-to-talk dictation with local Whisper AI models at no cost. No account is required for Free plan features.

Pro Plan: Includes additional features such as AI Compose, OpenAI Cloud transcription, and multi-language support for a monthly subscription fee. The current price is displayed on our website and within the application.

4. Payments and Billing

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use ScribAI for any unlawful purpose
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
  • Redistribute the application without permission
  • Use the service to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription or licensing restrictions

6. Intellectual Property

ScribAI and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ScribAI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Text generated through dictation or AI Compose belongs to the user.

7. Third-Party Services

ScribAI integrates with OpenAI's API for cloud transcription and AI Compose features. Your use of these features is also subject to OpenAI's Terms of Use. ScribAI is not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

ScribAI is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that transcription will be 100% accurate or that the service will be uninterrupted.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScribAI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the application.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the application or via email. Continued use of ScribAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to ScribAI at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may stop using ScribAI and delete the application at any time.
