ScribAI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our desktop dictation application and related services handle your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

If you create an account for ScribAI Pro, we collect your email address and basic account credentials. This information is stored securely via our authentication provider (Supabase).

Audio Data

Local Mode: When you use ScribAI in Local mode, all audio is processed entirely on your device using Whisper AI. No audio data is transmitted, stored, or accessible to us. Audio is discarded immediately after transcription.

Cloud Mode: When you use OpenAI Cloud mode, your audio is sent to OpenAI's API for transcription. This data is handled according to OpenAI's privacy policy. ScribAI does not store, log, or retain any audio data.

Usage Data

We may collect basic, anonymous usage statistics such as app version and feature usage to improve the product. We do not track individual transcription content.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the ScribAI application
  • To manage your account and subscription
  • To process payments through our payment provider
  • To send important service-related communications
  • To improve the application based on anonymous usage patterns

3. Data Storage and Security

Account data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Audio data in Local mode never leaves your device. We do not maintain servers that store transcription content or audio recordings.

4. Third-Party Services

ScribAI integrates with the following third-party services:

  • OpenAI API — For cloud transcription and AI Compose features (Pro plan only, optional)
  • Supabase — For authentication and account management

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export your account data
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

6. Children's Privacy

ScribAI is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the application or via email.
